What's baptism?

Baptism is the next step for anyone who has decided to follow Jesus! At FEMINC Church Online,

baptism looks like this:

Anyone anywhere can be baptized if they are a follower of Jesus, have a body of water to use,

and have someone to help them through the process, similar to how John baptized

Jesus (Matthew 3:3-17). You may be at a house or in a pool or a larger body of water without

people around you, but rest assured that when you are raised out of the water, your church

is cheering you on from around the world.

And don’t forget to invite your friends and family to be a part of the celebration with you!

Finally–and this part is optional, but it really helps us celebrate together–have someone

film the baptism and upload it here. You might even see your baptism during a service at

FEMINC Church Online.

Why should I get baptized?

1. Following Jesus is doing what Jesus did, and Jesus got baptized.

This one is pretty simple. If we’re going to be Jesus followers, then we should do what Jesus did and get baptized. (Matthew 3:13-17)

2. Following Jesus is doing what Jesus says.

Also simple. Jesus told us to baptize people. (Matthew 28:19-20) We want to proclaim Jesus as our leader, so out of our love, we obey Him and do what He asks.

3. Following Jesus is showing Jesus to people.

Baptism is incredibly symbolic of what Jesus did for us. As He went into the grave, we go into the water (Romans 6:4), and as He was raised back to life, we come back out. Our broken souls and wrong living are healed and washed away by Him; the water doesn't actually wash off dirt (1 Peter 3:21), but symbolizes the healing and washing that Jesus has done and will do in our lives. At FEMINC Church, we believe it’s Jesus who does the washing, not the water. This bold public symbol shows off what only Jesus can do.

We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. (Romans 6:4)

And that water is a picture of baptism, which now saves you, not by removing dirt from your body, but as a response to God from a clean conscience. It is effective because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 3:21)

Step 3

Show up to the call fully clothed in your Royal Blue "Meet The New Me" baptism T-Shirt and dark-colored clothing (no light-colored clothes, please). Be ready to get baptized at the time of your call.

Step 4

Plan to have a friend or loved one film it so that you can cherish the memory, and so you can share it with your church family here!
